Conclusion

John - This is one of the most consistently strong albums I think we've reviewed. Every song was very listenable and there wasn't really a dull track on there. Considering that this is her debut, Dua Lipa has done incredibly well in creating an album that is so well produced and well written. The instrumentals are varied and catchy, and her vocals, whilst not being everyone's cup of tea, are faultless throughout. Standout tracks are Be The One, No Goodbyes and New Rules for me. The thing I find that Dua Lipa has nailed though, is that there is not one hint of a filler track on the record. Every song could have been a single, and that is no small accomplishment.

My one problem, is that it's just a solid album. There's nothing that takes your breath away or makes you want to sing along enough. That is the only thing holding me back from giving a 4 or higher. But for a debut, this is a very, very good album.

Overall Score - 3.5/5

Tilly - This was a very good pop album. There wasn't a single bad song on it, and every track felt like it could be a single, which for a debut is outstanding. My only fault as John said, was that there wasn't anything remarkable about it. It's a solid record though. Catchy, fun and easy to listen to. Highlights were definitely Blow Your Mind, IDGAF and Be The One, and I can't contrast that with worst songs because in all honesty, there were none. Overall, Dua Lipa was a strong debut but it was definitely missing a little something special.

Overall Score - 3/5

Last Young Renegade - All Time Low

All Time Low are one of the biggest and most well known rock bands around at the moment. Back with their seventh studio album, Last Young Renegade, they are the subject of our latest review! The band from Baltimore, MA have long been at the forefront of pop-rock, along with the likes of Paramore, Fall Out Boy, and Panic! At The Disco - although out of those, All Time Low have definitely been the most consistent with their sound. Pairing catchy choruses with well-written and at times satirical lyrics, along with instrumentals that you'll be humming along to for days, is what these guys do best. But is their well-worn recipe still fresh? Find out here, as we review their latest efforts.
