Conclusion

John - I've always known HAIM as being a chill-sounding, summery, indie rock band who have a knack for creating catchy choruses and hooks that you can't get out of your head for days. Unfortunately, this album doesn't really showcase much of that.. Not as much as I would like anyway. There is a line between having a chill sound and being utterly boring, and that line was crossed several times on Something To Tell You.

Want You Back was one of the few high points - it encaptured the sound that I've always known them for perfectly and was a perfect choice for a single. Otherwise the majority of the rest of the album felt a bit.. Dreary. HAIM obviously like writing about heartache and heartbreak, we've always known that, and they go about their writing in clever and often pretty ways, but I felt even the lyrics let the record down in places.

I'm disappointed in this album on first listen, but the positives here are that it still yields the potential to be a great record through headphones, and it makes for excellent driving music, with the windows down, on a summer day. Apart from that though, there's not a large amount to write home about.

Overall Score - 2/5

Tilly - HAIM are the definition of a 'cool' band. Their sound completely embodies fresh air, driving around with the windows rolled down, and of course, sisterhood. Something To Tell You unfortunately didn't capture this quite as much as I thought (and hoped) that it would. Want You Back and Little Of Your Love are the only tracks that I remember feeling that way about. The rest, unless I have already forgotten them (which given the one dimensional sound mostly showcased throughout the duration is entirely plausible), were dull, albeit atmospheric. The only reason I didn't slate most of the songs is because they always had at least one redeeming quality. Whether that be Danielle's vocals, Este's individuality or Alana's addition to the harmonies, there was always something. Something To Tell You is a cohesive, chill and solid record, but maybe they should have tried to create an album that was a little more exciting.

Overall Score - 3/5

For Fans Of - London Grammar, Alanis Morissette, Sheryl Crow, The Beautiful South and Fleetwood Mac.

All Your Fault: Pt. 1 EP - Bebe Rexha

Surprisingly, Bebe Rexha has still not released an album. Instead she has decided to release a two part EP. All Your Fault: Pt. 1 was released back in February - which is the one we will be reviewing, and Pt. 2 is scheduled to be released later this year. From playing in a band with Fall Out Boy's Pete Wentz, to co-writing songs for some of the world's biggest stars, it's safe to say we're expecting at the very least, a decent pop EP. Hopefully our expectations are delivered.  And....once again. One More Light - Linkin Park

Here we go, with an album that has certainly divided fans and newcomers alike. From what we've heard so far, it seems that Linkin Park have left the rock and nu-metal music that we've grown so accustomed to, behind. From the iconic Hybrid Theory and Meteora, through the experimental A Thousand Suns, right up to now, we've seen many sides of this versatile band. But none like what we appear to be about to see. So far we have had singles featuring Kiiara, Pusha T and Stormzy - not, maybe, what fans were expecting. So let's see what else these guys have to offer this era. Definitely going into this with an open mind, if nothing else! Once more, here's how our ratings work: 1 - Shouldn't have been recorded 2 - Filler 3 - Above average filler 4 - Killer 5 - Career defining masterpiece Track 01 - Nobody Can Save Me John - 2/5 Tilly - 2/5 Track 02 - Good Goodbye [Feat. All These Countless Nights - Deaf Havana

Deaf Havana will be a familiar name to any UK based fans of rock music. Championed by Kerrang! and Rocksound in their earlier days, they rapidly gained a large following down to their catchy blend of deep, well-written lyrics and anthemic, singalong choruses. In recent years their music has changed a lot - matured, as they would probably tell you. Nowadays they are closer to indie rock than their earlier post-hardcore sound, but still with the same rich lyrical content and ability to pen a song that will stick in your head all day. All These Countless Nights is the fourth release by the band - the question is, have they still got it? Let's find out.
